PERFORMING blood glucose and ketonemia TESTS

1.
Wash and dry hands thoroughly.
2.
Insert a test strip fully into the meter.
3.
Prick your finger.
4.
Apply the blood to the end of the test strip.
5.
The result will appear on the display in just five seconds for blood glucose and eight seconds for ketonemia.

Dispose of the strip safely thanks to the integrated eject button located on the back of the instrument.

NFC data download

1.
Turn on the NFC function of your mobile device and install the GlucoLog Lite app (available for free on Google Play and App Store).
2.
The NFC function on your GlucoMen areo GK meter is preset to OFF and can be enabled as follows: Press the ▲ or ▼ buttons to select ON or OFF. Press I/O button to confirm and exit.
3.
Open the GlucoLog Lite 'Receive' page and and bring the GlucoMen areo GK NFC antenna close (< 1 cm) to the antenna of the NFC equipped device.

Data transmission will start automatically (the GlucoMen areo GK meter will turn on and the blinking icon will be displayed on the screen).
After downloading the data, the meter switches off automatically.

1.
Make sure the meter is off (to turn the meter off hold I/O button for 3 seconds until the screen switches off).
2.
Press the I/O button for 2 seconds to turn the meter on and enter the memory recall mode (the “mem” icon appears on the screen and the “Glu” icon will blink).
3.
Press I/O button to enter in the glucose results memory.
The most recent test result appears on the screen.
The screen also shows the “Glu” icon, the date and time of the test, and the corresponding markers.
Press ▲or ▼ to scroll through all the stored data.
4.
Press I/O button to enter the average mode (the “avg” icon appears on the screen).
The 1-day average appears on the screen. Press I/O button to scroll through the averages.
After reviewing the 90-day average, press I/O button to return to the memory recall mode.
5.
Hold I/O button for 3 seconds to switch the meter off.

DATE / TIME Settings

1.
Make sure the meter is off (to turn the meter off hold I/O button for 3 seconds until the screen switches off).
2.
Simultaneously press the I/O button and ▲ for 2 seconds to enter the setup menu.
3.
Press the I/O button to enter in Date/Time settings menu.
4.
Use ▲ or ▼ to select the correct value. Press the I/O button to confirm and move on to the next step: year, month, day, time format (12H, 24H), hour, minutes.
5.
After confirming the minutes (by pressing the I/O button) return to the setting menus.

NOTE: Date is in the DD-MM format.

FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers about GlucoMen areo GK system

Yes, the meter turns off automatically after two minutes of nonuse. To turn off the instrument manually, press the shutdown key for about three seconds until the display is completely off, then release the key.

No, it is not possible to delete results saved on the GlucoMen areo GK.

Always store the strips in environments where the temperature and humidity corresponds to what is indicated on the package and in the product instruction booklet. Do not leave the bottle in places where there is a risk of excessive heat, cold or humidity (for example in the kitchen, bathroom, under a window exposed to direct sunlight or in the glove box f a car).
Do not leave the bottle open, but be sure to close it properly immediately after removing the strip required for the test. Always keep the strips in their original bottle. Do not store the strips inside other unsuitable containers (bags, sacks, suitcases, etc.) and do not pour them into other bottles, even if they are made of strips of the same brand and type.

The serial number (SN) is located on the back of the GlucoMen areo GK glucose meter and on the product packaging label.

The lot number (LOT) can be found on the bottle and on the label of the test strip packaging (both for blood glucose and ketonemia).

If you have encountered a problem while using the GlucoMen areo GK, consult the “Troubleshooting” section of the user manual.

If the problem persists, contact our Customer Service team.

Open the cover of the battery compartment on the back of the instrument; remove the batteries and replace them with new ones (model CR2032), placing the + side facing outwards; replace the lid.

After replacing the batteries, the time, date, acoustic signal and markers must be reset.

No, when you change the batteries , the device will retain the test result data. However, you will need to reset the time, date, beep and marking symbols.
